yesterday and plans for the weekdend.

yesterday, i went to the park
unfortunately, it was dark so i had no idea what i was doing.
i did manage to collect some water and soil samples though
when i go down on the weekend, i need to make sure my camera is charged so i can take photos this time!!!
but i am also going to try and get soil that is a little deeper in the ground this time, i migth take a shovel and try not to look too suspicious.
i hope that when i go on the weekend, the park will be full of dogs, hopefully making it all dirty and mixed up and everything
but i am oging to take samples like this:
  • 4 from the grassy area, where the dogs play. Maybe north, south, east and west
  • 2, 1.5 litre bottles from 3 different areas of the beach (out on the sand spit and each side)
  • 4 from the different vegetation and plant life on the beach
  • and maybe something else, like the soil under the trees lining the carpark, to see if that is any different

I'm still waiting for my email from teh coucil, dogs.

Planning for Tomorrow

When i go to bayview tomorrow (30th april)
I am going to take photos of the landscape and i am going to collect my first samples
I have emailed the Pitwater council and i am waiting for a reply.
Once i have one, i will put it into a blog

Bayview general information - maps

I decided in the end to do Roland reserve (the dog park) in Bayview. I think it will be a good area for the investigation because it has evident pollution, like the dogs and the boats, has some plants and trees and has a ready supply of water. It is close to my house and i will be able to get samples easily. I still need to email the council and hopefully they will give me some good advice.

I did collect some maps from google maps of the dog park:

Map one is a street style map, whilst two is a map showing the terrain and topography of the site and map three is a satellite image.
The area in all 3 photos is circled red and the blue cross is the grass area where the dogs run and the green cross is the carpark.
